Everyone give a warm welcome to my friend Katie. Katie and I "met" in bloggy world. She is actually the first blog friend I got to meet in real life. Toats absorbs I know.
Katie has a sweet little blog where she shares everything. crafts, fashion, ideas, thoughts, and her first pregnancy.
She is going to share with us a fun make up tutorial even a novice can do...
Makeup can be a daunting task , but here I will explain to you how to create a simple day to evening look using just 4 colors and a few simple steps.
For this tutorial I used three brands of makeup. If you
don’t have these specific colors don’t worry, just use something similar!
I used the “True Romance” eyeshadow palette by Kate Von D,
Sonia Kashuk sparkle and shimmer loose eye powder in “Bronze” and Maybelline
Eyestudio gel eyeliner.
Starting from the
left:
A medium or small
sized flat brush for the lid
A crease brush for
the crease of your eye
A large flat brush
for the brow bone
To apply the eyeliner
you will need an angled eyeliner brush (it’s what I prefer)
To create the day
look take the “Meditation” color the eye palette and place it over your entire
lid
Next with your crease
brush use the “Bronze” color by Sonia Kashuk and in a back and forth motion
place in the crease of your eye. Be sure to blend well.
Now take your large
flat brush and place the “Sugar Skull” color along your brow bone to highlight,
also place on the inner corner of your eyes to open them up!
Finally using your
angled brush create a cat eye with your gel eyeliner. If you’re not comfortable
with creating a cat eye a simple line will do.
Now time to take your
simple day time took to and evening look by adding just one more color!
You may use your
crease brush for this or if you have a smudge brush use that.
Take the “Tijuana”
color for the palette and place in the outer creases of your eyes and work it
into a V shape. Be sure to blend very well!
I also like to smudge
a little bit under my lower lash line
Once you have added
the darker color you may need to touch up the other colors just to make sure
they are all blended together.
I believe keeping your makeup simple and not
over the top is the best way to show off your beautiful face!
