I recently bought a PDF Patter on Etsy.
It's called the Nikki Bag. you can get it {here}
First I want to say I love this bag.
It's huge people... I mean huge.
*Finished Dimensions:
- approx. 17"h x 20"w x 4.5"d
- 12" handle drop.
check it out compared to my 2 1/2 year old!
I give this bag 5 stars based on the simple construction and super easy to follow instructions.
The most time consuming part is cutting all the fabric pieces and interfacing. The most difficult part is taping all the pattern pieces together and turning those darn handles. I would guess it only took about 2 to 2 1/2 hours to sew the complete bag once all the pieces we cut and interfaced attached.
I chose to the whole exterior in one fabric...
I added white piping to define the band from the lower part of the bag.
I added a ruffle embellishment to the front that matches my interior fabric.
I also chose not to add buttons to mine.
The pattern comes with two pocket sizes, large and small.
I did not use these.
I made a large pocket on the entire length of the bag and then sewed in vertically to divide it up.
I ended up with 7 pockets all together.
I am very please with that.
When i make this bag again, which I will.
I will definitely add a bottom panel.
I like to be able to set thing in the center (not in a pocket) and this will help.
Next time I will also make the handles a little thinner.
I feel they are a little wide for my shoulders.
I also chose not to use fusible fleece ( i did not have any on hand)
but I think it worked out better and i will not use it for my next one either.
What do you think.. no I am not talking about my awkward poses
I am talking about the bag.
