I do not like "New Year's Resolutions"
I would prefer to call them goals, or life style changes!
I have also decided to make goals, meaningful, obtainable and few.
Too many goals, means to much pressure!
Without further stalling my 2012 goals...
#1 Be a better wife and mother:
This goal is my most challenging. It's easy to do things for me. The change things that make me feel better, look better, sound better, and so on. But to change things about me to help others, um not so much. This includes changing my attitude, my intentions, my hobbies (or at least when i do them), my schedule, use of my time. That's a whole lot of hard stuff by very important to my family, so there for important to me.
Matthew 20:28 (NLT)
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
#2 Be more active:
Of course I really wanted to say lose about 20lbs, run a 25K, get rock hard abs, and lose all extra skin that keeps waving on my arms even after I stop! But again my goals need to be obtainable, realistic! I am chose be more active, because well, to be honest I am not very active! I may be "going" lots of places but once I get there, I sit and drink a latte! With all my health problems at the end of 2011 I think it's pretty important to start taking care of my body better. It will not only benefit me but my family!
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NCV)
"You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit who is in you. You have received the Holy Spirit from God. So you do not belong to yourselves, because you were bought by God for a price. So honor God with your bodies."
"You should know that your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit who is in you. You have received the Holy Spirit from God. So you do not belong to yourselves, because you were bought by God for a price. So honor God with your bodies."
#3 Memorize scripture:
I know darn well that is so easy to say and If i were to do this on my own I would pick the easiest verses and give up after a few weeks. To fix that problem I am joining the A to Z Memory Verse Challenge 2012 over at She Sparkles what is it you ask? (from Cindy's blog)
Basically, I'll be sharing a new verse
every other week (A to Z style) through December 17th, 2012. I also have
lots of fun prizes to share each week with Memory Verse Challenge
participants! I am so excited about this challenge. I already scoured pinterest for ideas on how to display my verse. I even found the perfect spot for it . (upcoming post, don't you worry). I would love for you to join me in the challenge. Head over {here} to do so!
ROM 15:4
#4 One Little Word:
I have been reading about people doing a One Little Word challenge. At first i thought it was a fun thing to do but then a friend of mine asked me to join her in this challenge. She explained how she was planning on using this word and applying it to her life in so many ways. My eyes were open to how this One little word could change my life. I took to pray about it and meditate on it. My word for this year is " WORDS". We can not live without words, words hurt, words are emotional, words are love. So this year I want to be more aware of words, how I use them, when not to use them, when to speak God's words to others, when to pray about them, How to sue them to Glorify God, and how to use them to show God to others. what about you? do you want to join me in this challenge? well you can, each Wednesday my friend Heather and I will be hosting a Linky Party over at her blog to share out One Little Word Challenge. Stay tuned for more details.
Psalm 12:6
