decorating my living room {part 1}

I can not begin to tell you how many times I have changed what's on my walls
I learned from The Nester, it's okay!

I am still trying to find my "style".
I love shabby chic, but i also love the clean simple lines of modern
although my thrifty side has a soft place for an eclectic contemporary look!

today we are going to focus on the wall you see when you first step into my living room.

for now it houses our TV and there really isn't another option
until we get some new furniture, which is not in the works right now.

You may remember this post about when I got my vinyl birdcages...

my wall went from this:

I am still loving my cages just as much now as I did then!

here is the same wall decorated for Fall and then Christmas...

Here it is at the start of 2012...

The picture above the TV was created by our friend.
I love it...
but we only had 2 kids then and we have now have 3
Off the wall it goes, to be honest it really made me sad.
although i really love the clean look of the wall ...

again this is only temporary..
hubby and I decided to chose a family verse...
we thought the blank area above the TV would be the perfect spot for it.

we chose the verse:

Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV) 

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,  not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

I used Picasa to edit the picture and map out how i would like the layout of the verse.
and since i won a silhouette cameo (oh yes I did) I can make this out of vinyl!

there are still a few more changes to happen to this wall..
one being my book page dome is moving to a friends house!

I am still not sure what I put in it's place.. maybe nothing
but with pinterest I doubt that!

I am going to keep searching pinterest and craigslist for the perfect replacement of our TV stand.
I want something less deep and a lot less wide.
like a little side table type thing.
all it needs to house is the DVD player and Wii.
everything is just there cuz i can put it there!
