Where inspiration comes from...

I know we've all seen
retail store DIY knock offs
I am a huge fan of Anthropologie, J crew and Pottery barn knock offs

I mean if you make it and save $$ why not right.

I have a few "knock offs" I would like to share with you today
These are more of the handmade-crafty-bloggy-world knock offs...

One of my favorite shops of all time is The Pleated Poppy.

I think her Bloom bags are the cutest things ever.

I have wanted one of these purses for a while
but we are saving our pennies right now
so I thought I would attempt to make my own.

Enter thrift store-like new purse

The inside of this purse looks like it has never been touched.
I removed the buckle from the front because it was only for looks.

then added my own embellishments with scraps I had laying around.

Ta do
my own version of the Bloom Bag

Next on my Knock off list is a Chicken wire frame.

I first saw this on The Mrs. Blog, Tricia from I Heart Rock n Roll (and my crafty things too)
did a fun tutorial on these. Her inspiration was from Heather at Just.Lovely.Things.
Here is Heathers version:

Tricia's version:

I loved how she displayed her rings on it!
I thought this would be perfect for my Booth at the Girls night
Here is my version:
I wanted my frame to stand up
so I added fabric over the backing.
I am going to paint the frame white so it matches my other pieces

I am so thankful to all the women who share their awesome ideas and tips with us.

Do you have any great handmade "knock offs" you have tried recently?
if you do add a link below so we can all check it out.

  5. Very nice! I love those little flowers you made for the purse. I've been trying to make one's like that, but they never seem to come out right.
