I was visiting tatertots and jello this weekend
by visit I mean stalk for at least 1 hour!
Jen shared 25 fall wreath ideas.
I was smitten and inspired.
I have been swooning over yarn wrapped wreaths for long time
I've just never have had the patience to make one
today I got up the courage to try it.
I new this may be a one time only project
I had to make it neutral so I could use it over and over again.
I found a old straw wreath at goodwill last year for $1.99
Someone had removed the plastic wrapping on it so I covered it with packing tape!
I tied my yarn in a little knot around the wreath and went to wrapping.
I contemplated over just a messy look, but chose to go with clean lines instead.
After about 25 minutes of wrapping this is what I had...
then another 45 minutes later... completed!
I just tied the end of the string to where I started
Now the fun v
choosing colors and design
of course I consulted my wreath board on pinterest
I just looked around my house and found things I had laying around and came up with my colors
I also collected little odds and ends , flowers, fabric and felt that I thought cordinated
Since this wreath took so long to wrap I did not want it to be stuck to one holiday.
I chose to attach all my embellishments with pins so I can easily update it for each holiday!
So what do you think....
I am actually excited to update it for Halloween and Christmas already!
Have you made a wreath?
leave the link in the comments I would love to check it out!
