6 Years ago today...

It seems like only yesterday 

I was getting my hair done and slipping into that ivory dress

adding a veil to my hair and covering all the girls in shimmer powder

All this before walking down the aisle to marry the man of my dreams

not only is he extremely good looking

he is smart, super funny, and spiritual leader

one of the most honest evangelical men I know

We started our life together in a more unconventional type of fashion

one that we are not recommending to our children

one that I will share with you in more detail later this summer

Our daughter Frank was 4 when we got married

It was just as much, if not more of her wedding than ours

she even had her own escort to walk her down the aisle

Our wedding party consisted of our closet friends and our siblings.

most of the people in our wedding were couples!

Although some things change 

people move, people change, relationships end

this is still the group of friends that will hold a special place in my heart

Then it was time to walk down the aisle

and now to say our vows before our family and friends

to promise to love each other no matter what

to be submissive

to honor God with our marriage

Not many people believed us

but the moment we gave out marriage to God

and did things according to his plan

we felt different

we felt a sense of peace and comfort

knowing that the Lord would bless our marriage

Now heading to the party

Our reception was so much fun

celebrating our marriage 

with great food

because that's how we roll

a beautiful and even more delicious cake

surrounded by family

friends and lots of kids

all dancing and having a great time

I could not have asked for a better day

the weather was great

the company was perfect

and the peace that covered everyone

was felt by all who attended

A peace that could only come from our God in Heaven
